Rother Voluntary Action (RVA) are seeking your input if you live in rural Rother to get your input on how to improve the services on offer and to find solutions to meet local needs.
The RVA Healthy Ageing and Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE) project is looking for volunteers from Rye and Robertsbridge to attend their local creative community events.
RVA are aiming to build a more age friendly community by empowering older people to: 1) define what support they need; 2) participate in the design of services and 3) develop solutions to meet local needs for themselves.
Over the last year, RVA and East Sussex County Council have been working together with local communities in Rother to begin this process. Four major themes have emerged that impact on older people’s lives:
- life changes and transitions,
- loneliness and isolation,
- staying active and
- access to information and resources.
Now RVA want to hear from you on finding solutions to these issues and meeting local need.
The attached flyer has more information on the local events taking place. Please do go along and have your say if you live in rural Rother.
