Dear constituent,
I write to you following the Prime Minister’s decision to resign which I believe is the right one for him to make. As many of you will know, on Tuesday evening I withdrew my support from Boris Johnson due to the issues surrounding the appointment of the former Deputy Chief Whip and, since then, I have been watching as many of my colleagues do the same.
Whilst not one that I took lightly, I remain firmly convinced that this was the correct decision for me to make on behalf of the people of Hastings, Rye and the surrounding villages, and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Boris Johnson for the work that he has done over the past few years – including leading the international response to Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.
I look forward to continuing to represent our beautiful constituency of Hastings and Rye in Parliament to help deliver positive change for local people, families and businesses.
