Natwest’s chief executive, owner of the prestigious bank Coutts, has apologised to Nigel Farage and has promised a full review of the bank’s processes after a dossier said that his views “were at odds with our position as an inclusive organisation.”
Good evening and thank you Harry for inviting me to come and speak this evening!
My name is Sally-Ann Hart, and I am the Member of Parliament for beautiful Hastings and Rye – a coastal constituency which is gloriously situated along the East Sussex coast.
Earlier this week, I hosted a summer reception in Parliament for South East Councils as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the South East. I was pleased to see some Hastings Borough councillors there.
Tuesday 27th June started early – 7.30am in Westminster Hall at the Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. where the theme was ‘The Power of Forgiveness in Public Life’. It is an annual event to recognise the contribution that Christianity makes to the national life of the UK.
Rye is surrounded by stunning countryside, much of it categorised as the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We also have ancient woodlands, beautiful beaches, River Rother catchment, and we live right next to the SSSI Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
Recently, we have heard much about stubborn inflation, the impact of increasing interest rates - the Bank of England’s favoured measure to control inflation - and their impact on mortgage rates. These are issues which I know many of you - my constituents - are deeply concerned about.
I have received many emails from constituents wondering why I did not vote on the Committee of Privileges report into the former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
This week, I along with my fellow MPs have been working to publicise the “Pension Credit Week of Action” – raising awareness of Pension Credit and encouraging people to check their eligibility and make a claim.
